AKASHVANI DIRECTOR MEETS PAU VC, RECALLS AND ENSURES SUPPORT FOR FUTURISTIC RADIO PROGRAMMES

The Director of Akashvani, Jalandhar and Ludhiana Centre Mr Paramjit Singh held a productive discussion with the Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal and other senior officials of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), today.
The VC Dr Gosal, while according a warm welcome and extending thanks to the visiting member, lauded Akashvani (radio) for assisting PAU in the dissemination of essential knowledge concerning research, academics and extension to the farmers of Punjab, then and now. He recalled a popular Dehati programme, an all time favourite of Punjabi families. “Although the digitization has speeded-up the communication, yet the conventional ways of technology transfer must go on,” he observed, while assuring full support to Akashvani in future as well.
Interacting with the officials of the University, Mr Paramjit Singh expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the PAU for its constant support in hi-tech era. “If radio has played a pivotal role in uplifting the agriculture and agriculturists, PAU has equally played an important role in devising the future strategies for the benefit of rural families and spreading the farm knowledge to every nook and corner of Punjab,” he stated. It was basically a joint venture which has done wonders in the development of agriculture and farm families in offline days, he added. Further, he ensured of carrying forward the bilateral ties for the long-term benefit of the university and farmers.
Earlier, Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication, welcomed the Akashvani Director and informed him about radio related programmes.
Dr TS Dhillon, Additional Director of Extension Education, proposed a vote of thanks.
