PAU-KVK AMRITSAR CONDUCTS IN-SERVICE TRAINING ON POULTRY DISEASE MANAGEMENT

Punjab Agricultural University’s (PAU) Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Amritsar, in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I, Ludhiana, organized an in-service training on “Common Diseases in Poultry” on December 13, 2024. Fifteen field staff members from the Department of Animal Husbandry, Amritsar district, participated in the training.
Under the guidance of Dr Bikramjit Singh, Associate Director (Training), KVK Amritsar, the programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of field staff in managing poultry health. Dr. Singh welcomed the participants, introduced them to the mandates and functioning of KVK, and encouraged them to share their field experiences with KVK scientists for better knowledge exchange.
Dr Kanwarpal Singh Dhillon, Assistant Professor (Animal Science) and course coordinator delivered an in-depth session on various poultry diseases, including bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections. He also emphasized the importance of adopting general preventive measures to ensure poultry health and productivity.
