The PAU- Farm Advisory Service Centre (FASC), Sangrur, organized a village-level awareness camp at Kakra village to educate farmers on best management practices for maximizing rabi crop returns.

Dr. Ashok Kumar, District Extension Scientist, FASC Sangrur, delivered an insightful session on nutrient management, emphasizing the spray of potassium nitrate, addressing sulfur and manganese deficiencies in wheat, and the importance of regular pest monitoring. Farmers were also encouraged to cultivate pesticide-free vegetables using PAU's summer vegetable kit and to conduct soil testing post-wheat harvest for precise fertilizer application based on test results.

During the camp, the FASC team visited the wheat fields of progressive farmer S. Major Singh, diagnosed manganese deficiency symptoms, and provided advisory solutions as per PAU recommendations. The event also facilitated the sale of summer vegetable kits and nutritional supplements for livestock, including mineral mixtures, bypass fat, and UMMB licks.

Farmers were further registered for PAU's digital outreach initiatives by registering in WhatsApp groups and other PAU social media platforms to stay updated on the latest agricultural advisories.
